The Spark — Where Curiosity Turned into Purpose

It all begins in high school, I was fascinated by machines, not just by how their gears moved, but by how they could think and respond on their own. I’d find myself wondering why some devices acted automatically while others relied entirely on human input. That simple question slowly grew into a lasting curiosity about automation and intelligence in machines.

When I began my Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering at SRM University, I deliberately chose the newly introduced AI & ML specialization, a path that promised to blend traditional mechanical systems with the logic of intelligent computation. During the very first orientation, I heard about Robotics and Industry 4.0, and something just clicked. It was as if all the scattered pieces of curiosity finally found their home.

A few weeks later, I attended a robotics exhibition at the university. Rows of robotic arms, autonomous mobile robots, and humanoids performed tasks with precision that felt almost human. Standing there, watching those machines move, I realized this was exactly where I wanted to belong: at the intersection of mechanics, intelligence, and purpose.

That day wasn’t just a moment of fascination; it was the start of a lifelong commitment. I knew then that my future would revolve around creating robots that assist humans, not replace them and building technologies that make life safer, smarter, and more human.
